Inspiration Archives: Alanna Jai Wall
Alanna is the young founder of Polished Girlz.
If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I'd want to pass along to others...
Whether you are young or old you CAN make a difference! Everyone is different, we all have different strengths, weaknesses and talents, and we just all need to be our true self!
When I first started Polished Girlz two years ago, I thought that I was doing something that was very simple, that anyone can do this. But I quickly learned that this simple act of kindness is so much more than just polishing the nails of girls who have special needs or who are in the hospital. It was actually making them happy and made them feel good about themselves.
One thing I never even thought of was that I was helping them to keep infections from spreading by properly washing hands and sharing the importance of keeping them clean. I just wanted to make these girls smile!
I have learned so many things from Polished Girlz! One of the biggest lessons I have learned was from the parents of my clients. The girls are so excited to see us that sometimes it's the only way they can convince their kids to come to a support meeting, doctor's appointment or even the hospital! Our glitter patrol gives the girls something to look forward to and helps to make them feel normal, cool and happy, which is all most girls want to feel. I just could not believe that some glitter and polish can make such a big impact.
Over the past two years, I have been honored to meet so many wonderful people from all over the world who have helped me to grow my organization bigger and serve more girls. This amazes me every day and it makes me so happy that I am building something bigger than just me; we are starting several new chapters and the girls are lining up to volunteer and to be polished too. This makes me really happy!
As Polished Girlz is growing I am growing too. I cannot imagine NOT doing this work. I feel blessed every time we visit our clients and can brighten their day. As we continue to grow Polished Girlz with new chapters, new nail polish and new jewelry, I often wonder where this will all lead to and I just smile. I have no idea, but I am so happy to be on this road and able to be there for the girls, that it really doesn't matter.
My final words are.... It doesn't matter that you are a kid, it doesn't matter if someone tells you "no...." No can often just mean "not now." Don't be discouraged or disappointed, find a way to turn that "no" or "maybe" into a YES! Oh and everything is better with GLITTER!
Abundance flows more freely to you when it continues to flow outward from you, as you pass it on.

Surrender Equals Peace
May 23, 2013
By Trisha Sugarek. The other night I had such a moment of clarity and sense of surrender that it took my breath away....
As you close your eyes tonight, may you know how blessed you are and celebrate with gratitude.
