How It Started

In early 2009, Inspire Me Today Founder Gail Lynne Goodwin and her husband Darryl asked themselves "What's the greatest thing we could we do if we knew we couldn't fail?" Combining Darryl's passion for flying along with Gail's desire to hug the world, the Global Hug Tour was born.

What We're Doing

Gail and Darryl will take off in a small prop plane from the United States to circumnavigate the globe and literally hug the world.

On a personal mission to make a difference, they will be:

• Delivering millions of dollars to important causes throughout the tour raised through grassroots contributions from people like you
• Giving thousands of hugs in each location to literally wrap the world in hugs (Each hug is sponsored for $10)
• Gathering great wisdom, inspiration and brilliance from leaders and luminaries in the far reaches of the globe to bring back and share on inspiremetoday.com

Our Goal

To give at least 100,000 hugs around the world and raise millions for our partner organizations by sponsoring hugs around the world.

What A Simple Hug Can Do

• 100 hugs ($1,000) can save the life of a child being treated at Dr. Mani's Children's Heart Foundation in Chennai, India
• 2 hugs (just $20) will fund a year's education for a child in Siem Reap, Cambodia
• One hug ($10) will feed three homeless people in Chicago.

• In this time of doom and gloom when it seems the whole world is struggling, we choose to change that focus by inspiring humanity to trust in what is good and what is possible.

What We're Bringing Back

• Along the way, as our travels take us to places far and wide, we will gather and share some of the best inspiration and brilliance from each region we visit.
• Realizing that there is a wealth of wisdom and unique views throughout the world, we will collect stories and experiences of leaders and luminaries from the far corners to bring back and share through InspireMeToday.com.

How You Can Help

• For a $10 contribution, you will have the opportunity to become an official Hug Ambassador, sponsor the delivery of a hug and to choose the city and cause where your donation will make a difference.
• Your hug recipient will be given a sticker with the number of their hug and a unique code. By logging on to InspireMeToday.com, givers and receivers - people from all around the world - will have the opportunity to connect with one another.
• You'll know that your hug went to Johan in Sweden, Sujatmi in Indonesia or Naresh in India, for example, and have the opportunity to connect and build friendships across the world.
